Well today is my last day working as an Intern at the office at EMwomen. I have had such an amazing time here and I have met a lot of incredible people.
I really wanted to write about something amazing that happened to me the other day....
For the past few weeks I have been trying to figure out where in the world I was going to work after my internship. A few of my friends had been having a hard time finding jobs with the way the economy is. I had decided to move back home until December which is when I am getting married.
Well for about 4 weeks now I went to the same gas station near my apartment every morning to get a diet coke before I go to work. The manager noticed that I always came there around the same time every day and I was always dressed in business attire. He asked me where I worked one day and I told him about my internship. The next day he told me that I needed a job closer to Arkadelphia. He told me that a job was opening up soon and handed in the application for a job with the city hall. I filled it out and turned in the application along with a resume I had made. I turned it in the last day of the EMpact Leadership Summit. When the summit was over, I was in my car headed back when I got a call from the mayor. Only a few hours later, I had an interview with the Mayor and I got the job!
The manager of the gas station came with the mayor and told me that he noticed a lot about me just from how I was dressed and the time I came in every day. He said the one thing he really liked about me was that I always had a smile on my face and I was always nice to the cashier.
The moral of my story is this....Everything happens for a reason. And also, always try to act your best because you never know who is watching.
So thank you Staci and Larry! If I had not been given this wonderful internship experience, I would have never went to the gas station every morning and ended up with this wonderful job that I am about to start. Also, thank you God for taking such good care for me...Amen!
