Day 8
June 23
Tuesday was the final day of the EMpact Leadership Summit. The girls started the morning off with breakfast. After breakfast, they headed outside for some archery lessons. 4H’s staff taught everyone the parts of a bow, how to load arrows, proper stance, and how to shoot the arrows. After a few practice rounds, everyone was divided into three groups for some friendly archery competition. When the game was over the stakes were raised. Balloons and stars were then placed on the targets. The team with the most balloons popped would win. Larry Wallace offered $10 to any girl that could hit one of the small stars in the bull’s eye, and then Mike Rogers wanted to match Larry’s offer. At the end of the competition, Nicole Helton was the only girl to hit the star! She left $20 richer. When Archery was over, the girls headed inside.
The girls then had to pack their bags and get ready to leave 4H. The girls then ate lunch. Lunch was followed by Staci Wallace going over the Big Give Challenge. Mrs. Wallace wished the girls the best and then sang a song she composed and wrote called Cinderella. The girls finished signing thank you cards and each others’ notebooks. The girls then left 4H to head back home after the amazing week.
We would like to give special thanks to 4H for their great hospitality.
