About Me:
I live alone with my beautiful greyhound Bess (& two tenants) - am wondering what life has in store for me now.....I lost my beloved husband nearly five years ago and my mother who I cared for till she died a month ago (Sept.08) - I passed over my business to someone else nine months ago, sooo, after an incredibly full life surrounded by family and work, I am on my own. I do have two sons who I am in touch with a lot and five wonderful grandchildren but they are teenagers except for one eight year old & dont need me as they used to - I have only about three friends who have kept close to me since I have been caring for my amazing mama - I dont regret these last years at all, she helped me through the death of my husband and I helped her have good quality of life and independence to the end, which was a privilege indeed and one I enjoyed very much - I have my work waiting for me again as an astrologer and for the business I gave up but it is so strange. I need to sort a great deal out and recover my health as the last five years have taken it out of me, but I wonder how I will be - completely on my own, I will find out who I am perhaps ? A bit scary!! Have discovered a passion for photography just recently which is a salvation right now...

my page....

I have changed my page to say what has happened really - my wonderful mama died a month ago, miss her just so much, though I realise, at 91 and having gone downhill, it was timely - she was able to remain independent and able to look after herself personally till the end, maintain herself in her flat ten minutes from me. During the nearly five years since my husbands death she has been such a source of strength to me, I feel as if I wouldnt have got through it without her, his death was so sudde… Continue

Boomers...:)

I am starting to get myself ready for the Boomers to really hit the mix sixties...lol......................because I find that is where I have become really achy and things hitting me that mean (OH dear11- old age? ) is on the way. I love how the babyboomers think of positivity over everything and sort of follow them all from in front, being sixty seven. I keep falling down, which doesnt help. My mind is young but oh my body, I know eighty year olds that are fitter!

Am in a transition phase aft… Continue

Cathryn,

I read your post in the VIP group and I am thrilled that you are willing to live beyond your circumstances to give hope to others. Sometimes, the best way to overcome our own challenges is to be the answer or hope to someone else.

I know that as you give of yourself in this season and welcome women in this community, you will be blessed beyond measure. "Give and it shall be given..."

Welcome to the team! :)

Ow!Ow!OW! That injection itself must have been painful!! I am so glad you are doing better. That must have been difficult for you. So glad you are back!
You are such a sweet lady, Cathrynn. Your comments to encourage others seems like sitting across the table enjoying a cup of tea together. Sweet and relaxing. Thank you.
By the way.. do you have a favorite tea? I'm pretty well stuck with coffee. Talk with you later

Hi Cathrynn! Thanks for your concerned comments... we had lots of branches down, a few trees split, but no major damage or people hurt - so thats great.

How wonderful for you to have a nice ocean breeze. Sounds like a nice place to have raised a family, and go for a walk with your dog.

I've heard that greyhounds have very sweet temperaments.. but that you have to watch that they don't run off at any chance they get. Do you find that with your dog?

I saw that you tutored in massage... what a wonderful way to help people! Seems to be more accepted as a health benefit these days, don't you think?

I'm so glad you are finding a place here, you are so sweet.
Thanks for being my friend!! Kathi

Hi Cathrynn, How are you doing today? Busy day? It is quite warm & humid here in the midwest right now - with some "almost-but-not-quite-tornado" winds blowing through.
Lots of tree damage (branches down, shingles blown off roofs etc.) but nothing major.. praise God! How is your weather? Are you a get out in the garden girl?
Well, thinking of you today.. have a blessed day! Kathi

Cathrynn -- how absolutely wonderful it is to see a United Kingdom gal on EMwomen! Our son goes to London quite often on business and has told us he'd take us with him very soon. We are truly looking forward to it!!! And how wonderful to already see you surfing around the community. I loved your comments about the love you have for your grandchildren and especially your positive attitude. I'm so sorry about the passing of your husband, but with the great attitude and zest for life that you have, you're going to keep living life to the fullest. That will be such a blessing to your whole family! Much love and blessings are sent to you! It's terrific getting to know another "sister" -- we may be oceans apart -- but only megabytes in this technology age! Don't we love it??? When you can, join our group, "Over 50....and loving it!" I'm sure you'll have lots of wisdom and wit for us!!
