Day One: Discovery My Unique Greatness

Today marks
the first day of the EMpact Leadership Summit and Redefining
Beautiful Program. The day started off with so much fun and
interaction with each of the young ladies, all coming from diverse
backgrounds and personalities. Teams were formed and their
identities, t-shirts, and chants clearly identified their unique
energy and excitement. The day’s activities were sponsored by River
of Life Church, who hosted the sessions and have graciously donated
of their time and facilities to the Summit.
Our first guest speaker was Karen EMhoff, a power CEO and
specialist in helping individuals recognize their personality
traits and how they can use those unique qualities to present
themselves with confidence, excellence, and strategic leadership.
The quality of training given to these young ladies will, without
question, give them an edge in the future and a confidence in
communications.
The valuable lesson also helped each young lady know how to read
other personality profiles so they can communicate more effectively
with others in the future. These skills will help each of these
young ladies as they enter the marketplace with great social
skills, communication, and ability to offer effective leadership
and customer service. It was an amazing kick-off to our summit and
was topped off with fun crafts, activities, and challenges
supporting the lessons learned.
Session two was “YOU Incorporated”, led by EMwomen founder, Staci
Wallace. Mrs. Wallace led the girls in clearly recognizing that the
greatest product and greatest “brand” they will ever represent is
themselves. By showing each girl the dynamics of self-respect, and
recognizing their own greatness, each girl began to open up
intimately on barriers that have hindered their success in the
past.
In the evening, Mrs. Wallace, a life-coach and specialist in
helping individuals tap into their full potential, led the
“Embracing Change” segment, where each young lady created a
time-line of their past so they might recognize how those
circumstances can create a powerful launch to their future.
“We believe every girl has a story. Some stories are sad, some are
heartbreaking, and others are full of blessings. No matter who the
girl is or where she has come from, we believe every girl has a
story. And if given the right guidance and confidence, her story
has the potential to change the world” said Wallace.
By the end of the day, each young lady was openly expressing
themselves, their challenges, and beginning to see that their past
has the potential to empower their future.
The day ended with games, fun and an expectancy for day two to take
them to the next level of become dynamic leaders equipped with the
skills necessary to enter the marketplace with passion, purpose,
and confidence.
