Hello everyone! It’s great to take a break from the EMpact
Leadership Summit to let you know how amazing this journey is for
all of us. It’s only been three days, and already we’re seeing
these young ladies transform in a remarkable way. Every of these
young ladies continue to shine like a star as they face their
fears, develop greater teamwork and, today, learned to become
effective speakers who can confidently share their thoughts and
ideas.
Today started off at 8:00 a.m. with a 3-hour class on presentation
skills and stage presence. We were joined by TV personality, Sheryl
Lackey, who shared the six keys to delivering dynamic presentations
on camera. Teams had to create their own commercials and
infomercials, as well as share a 90-second presentation on their
passion to touch the world. The 90-second presentations were
videotaped and gave each young woman stronger abilities they can
take with them into the marketplace.

Renown
stylist and image consultant, Jo Silvey of Dallas, Texas, shared
helpful tips on how each girl can dress and look her best for
success.
This afternoon our goal setting course continued at Diamante Golf
Course where the young ladies received golf lessons that paralled
techniques of following through with your commitments. After the
golf clinic, the girls enjoyed a night of fun at Balboa Beach for
the 2009 EMgirl Olympics where they participated in physical
competitions that exhibited their willingness to work hard, display
teamwork skills, collaboration, critical thinking, athleticism, and
a whole lot of fun.
I want to say a special “thank you” to Kim Taylor, Karen Imhoff,
Darla Hollingsworth, and the women of Christian Ministries of Hot
Springs Village for providing a fantastic dinner at the beach.
Special thanks also goes to Olive Garden of Hot Springs, Diamante
Golf Club, River of Life Church, and Sheryl Lackey for making this
a day these girls will never forget. What a joy to know, as a
leader, that our lives, when focused on others can make such a
lasting difference. To watch their lives change, is truly changing
mine. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s update.
God bless,
Staci
